5 More Sleeps!

Only five more sleeps to go until Christmas day! I’m kind of ready and have certainly started on the mince pies!

Thank you to those that popped in and visited the Studio yesterday- I’ll be open again on Wednesday so if you missed out there’s still time to get some last minute gifts and retro party outfits! You could also buy a raffle ticket for this fabulous wreath I crocheted and the proceeds are going to Dementia UK.

Christmas Coach Trip!

Just back from a fabulous coach trip to the Lincoln Christmas Markets with Mum and Sis. It was quite like the T.V. programme of the same name in places!! Had a lovely time and there were quite a few inspiring crafts to be seen on the market stalls. I’ve nearly finished my Christmas shopping now- just a few more bits to get.

Speaking of Christmas shopping, I’ll be opening the studio on the 19th to allow for last minute gift buying- pop in for a browse and a free mince pie!

Christmas Crafts for All Ages!

It’s been an extra crafty week this week!

I really enjoyed running a workshop at Moat Park  retirement village near Dunmow. The participants were really enthusiastic and very pleased with their Christmas decopatch decorations and their seasonal wreaths. They were all great and so different from each other! The conversation was lovely too- not to mention the cakes!

The Kids Christmas Workshops I ran on Saturday were also a success. The children enjoyed making wreaths and paper flowers and there was indeed plenty of glitter and sparkles! It didn’t take me too long to get rid of the glitter.. Keep your eyes peeled for Children’s Art and Craft workshops coming in the New Year.

For the week coming up  I will only be opening the studio for a half day on Wednesday – evening classes as usual though and no class on Friday .

Here are some of my latest vintage finds- on sale at the studio! Yummy colour..

Glitter-tastic!

Hooray! Going to put up some Christmas decorations in the studio this week in readiness for the Christmas Kids workshop at the weekend. Have bought some tinsel and will also put up some crocheted stars and snowflakes I’ve made too. Looking forward to it! Especially the glitter involved in the kids session!

I had a nice session for Age Concern in Harlow teaching people how to make paper flowers and add them to a wreath. The results were delightfully different to my example wreath.

Book soon for the kids Christmas Workshop- it’s on Saturday!

Here are some new additions to my vintage stash! This retro baby deer money box is sooo cute! I finally found a replacement rubber stopper for it after ages of searching. It sat looking at me forlornly in the front room for some time! The crochet tea cosy just needed a contrasting lining and it’s perfect for a cream tea!

Dry and Cosy!

It was lovely to be working in my dry and cosy studio after Saturday’s soggy performance at the Bishop’s Stortford Farmer’s Market! I enjoyed arranging the new Christmas tree and decorations which look lovely.

I’ve not had too much time this week to do a lot of making, but did make this cute little tea cosy from some of my favourite fabric at the moment. I’ll be sad when the fabric runs out!

It was great to have some visitors to the studio too and thank you for the positive comments!

A Soggy Day in Stortford!

The weather forecast wasn’t great for the Farmer’s and Craft Market in Bishop’s Stortford and it was at least accurate!

I managed to hang on to my handcrafted gifts in the wind and rain and things did improve when we got an extra tarpaulin!! Well done those brave customers who ventured out and bought some of my Christmas decorations. I bought a new wooden Christmas tree to put them on in my studio and they look good- still a bit early to go decoration mad though!

Here’s the latest tea cosy I made this week- from old embroidered chair slips and napkins. Very pretty I think.

Classes are on  as usual on Wednesday and the studio will be open all day too. NO FRIDAY CLASS THIS WEEK!

Just a reminder that I’m running a Christmas Craft Workshop on Monday the 23rd of December. Look forward to seeing you there!
